Black-Scholes model

The Black-Scholes model is a mathematical model for the fair value of an option. There are many assumptions underpinning this model, see Black-Scholes world.

The model was created originally for equities but it has since been used for other underlying assets such as indices, exchange rates, commodities, and also some fixed-income instruments.
